Joseph P. Myers, CPA, CVA

Joe has been providing creative profit oriented financial and tax advice to small, medium and large businesses and individual clients for over 39 years. Joe has served as the Chief Financial Officer to a multi-plant valve manufacturer, automobile dealership and multi-building commercial office park. Joe has also served as the director of Internal Auditing and controller of a six unit department store.

Among Joe’s experiences is time spent in public accounting with one of the Big Eight accounting firms where he served as a senior audit manager and with Pittsburgh’s largest regional accounting firm as the manager-in-charge of its Columbus, Ohio office. Joe has also served as the Vice President of consulting services for a Midwestern consulting firm.

Joe founded Myers, Patsy & Associates, LLC (formerly JP Myers & Associates, LLC) in June 2004. From his experiences in public accounting and industry Joe has developed the Firm’s philosophy, which has served his clients well:

Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Joe is also a Certified Valuation Analysts (CVA).

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Public Accountants (PICPA), and the National Association of Valuation Analysts (NACVAS).

In addition, Joe is the President of the Carnegie Community Development Corporation and the current President of the Southpointe Connections Chapter of Western Pennsylvania BNI.

Joe graduated from Duquesne University in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting.

Michael D. Patsy CPA, MST

In his extensive career, Michael has worked as a Revenue Agent with the IRS, as a Tax Manager for a large regional CPA firm and as Director of Taxation and Internal Controls for one of the largest privately owned title/settlement companies in the country. Not only has he walked in your shoes working in private industry, but he also understands tax matters from both sides of the table. This unique experience sets Michael apart from other professionals.

Michael’s client focus has been with partnerships, s corporations, limited liability companies, non-profit entities, sole proprietorships, and individuals. He works with service companies, manufacturers, e-commerce companies, and oil & gas service companies along with other businesses. Michael has extensive experience and success in representing clients and their tax matters with the IRS and state tax agencies.

A resident of Cranberry Township since 1991, Michael is actively involved in his community. He is a former Board member of the Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce and is a Charter member and a Past President of the Cranberry Township Sunrise Rotary Club.

Michael is a CPA and member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. He earned his BS degree in Accounting from Penn State University in 1988 and his MS degree in Taxation from Robert Morris University in 1997.

By utilizing his experience and education, Michael helps clients sleep better at night by providing timely and well thought out solutions to complex tax compliance and planning issues. Integrity, exemplary service and professionalism are at the core of Michael’s philosophy.

In addition to spending time with family, Mike enjoys cheering for the Steelers, Pirates and Pens and golfing.

Kimberly D. Wetzel, CPA

Kim began her career in 2005 and joined Myers, Patsy & Associates in 2019. Kim specializes in providing assurance services, including audits, reviews and compilations to closely held businesses, local governments and agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. Kim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Shenandoah University, Winchester Virginia.

Kimberly was also the Controller for Propel Schools, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 2015 to 2017. During that time, she oversaw the audits of eight charter school entities and one foundation. She was the project manager for implementation of two new ERP systems at Propel. Kimberly uniquely knows the strain an audit causes on office personnel and resources and incorporates practical engagement management to provide exceptional client service.

Kim is a member of the AICPA, PICPA, the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials, and the Government Finance Officers Association. She serves on two committees of the PICPA: the Pittsburgh Chapter Executive Committee and the Women in Accounting Committee.

Kim also provides tax services for individuals, closely held companies, and not-for-profit organizations.

Kim and her husband, Joe, live in Brighton Township and in her free time enjoys walking or kayaking at local parks.
